Covid-19 & Customer's changing shopping behaviour











The way Covid-19 pandemic has came into our life it is defining our entire 2020 year. It seems like the most fearful dream in our entire life will be this Covid-19. Many unexpected situations are coming infront of us. The prolonged lockdown in the country is grabing down the economy drastically. The sudden stop of the business is making many humans to loose their job thus increasing the unemployment rate. Not a single sector of the country is uneffected. Take the example of education sector, maximum students faced the problem of studying & appearing exam. Many employees like software industry who can work from home have managed the work effectively but when it comes to Logistics, Production, Travel business have seen a tremendous issue.

                                     

But as we always say that every bad thing has a good thing inside it. During this situation also many good things have happened to people. The digital India project which our country was trying to adapt since a long time is somewhat successful now. Wherever we go for buying any essential items we are prefering to pay by digital mode rather than physical notes. In the work from home strategy, people are learning to use digital platforms like Zoom , Teams, Google Meet, etc. for conducting meeting or any type of official discussion. On the personal front, due to WFH people are getting more time to spend with their family members. For education also universities have planned online classes & exams for the students. 

Thus the online medium has became the most required/ used version now. People who were prefering to buy the products from physical stores have changed their mindset & were opting for ordering online. From bulk-buying to online shopping, People are changing what, when & how they are buying. The lockdown declaration forced people to stock up the essentials like hand sanitizer, masks, household essentials like toilet paper, floor cleaner and other grocery items like rice, dal, oil, surf, etc. Both brick-n-mortar & online stores started struggling to meet the rising demands. 





The increase risk of contamination of virus forced people to think about the online shopping. Many articles wrote that as the virus stays on the surface for 3-4 hrs the packaged product will be free of virus till it reach the customer. Due to the current situation also it is taking more time for the product to get delivered. People are recieving the product packet then sanitizing the packet & temselves. Once opened throwing the packet & keeping the product with them. This practice have made people think that they are safe from virus if ordering online. Also they donot have to go out thus less contact with people. 

Thus the e-commerce platforms are booming with orders.
